The UGACard serves as an access device for your campus debit account. If you do not have a UGACard, or you need a replacement, you can obtain one at the Tate Student Center. Once you have a UGACard, you need only to complete a card holder agreement to begin using Bulldog Bucks. These forms can be obtained at the Bulldog Bucks office, located on the Sanford Drive side of the University Bookstore. The office is open from 8 AM - 5 PM Monday through Friday except during University holidays.

How do I check my account balance?

You can check your balance online, 24 hours a day, by logging on to bulldogbucks.blackboard.com, or you can come by our office, located on the Sanford Drive side of the Bookstore.

Note that you cannot check your balance at any laundry, vending, printing, or copying machines, because the balances displayed by these machines count down from your Daily Unattended Limit rather than your actual account balance (see below).

Why is my account balance different at Laundry, Printing, Copying, and Vending?

When you signed up for Bulldog Bucks, you set a Daily Unattended Limit. This is a limit on the amount that can be spent on laundry, printing, copying, and vending in one day. The card readers at these locations count down from your Daily Unattended Limit rather than your total account balance.

For example, suppose your limit is $10 and you have $150 in your account. You then buy a Coke from a vending machine for $1. For the rest of that day, your balance will display as $9 at any laundry, printing, copying, or vending card reader. However, your actual account balance, which you can check online, is $149.

I know I have enough money in my account, why am I unable to print or do laundry?

This can occur when you have exceeded your Daily Unattended Limit. The limit is reset everyday at midnight and applies to laundry, copying, vending, and printing.

What is the "Daily Unattended Limit"?

The "Daily Unattended Limit" is a security feature built into your account. This is the total amount of money that can be spent in locations where there is no one to verify your identity. It applies to printing, copying, vending, and laundry. If your card is lost or stolen, this would be the maximum that can be spent from your account at these unattended locations.

How do I change my Daily Unattended Limit?

You selected your Daily Unattended Limit when you opened your account, however you can change it at the Bulldog Bucks office during regular business hours (Mon - Fri, 8 AM - 5PM, excluding official University holidays). You may choose a limit of either $10, $25, or $50 a day. Students may also change their Daily Limit online from the Student Deposits site. Note that changes will not be immediate, but will take effect the next day.

What should I do if I lose my card?

You can log on to bulldogbucks.blackboard.com 24 hours a day to report your card lost or stolen. Log in and go to "Suspend Activity on Card". This will immediately stop anyone from accessing your account. To restore your account access (once you've found or replaced your card) you will need to come to the Bulldog Bucks office with your ID. For security reasons, UGACards reported lost or stolen may not be reactivated remotely.

What happened to Parent/Guest deposits?

On June 1, Bulldog Bucks initiated a new program in partnership with the UGA Bursar's office in order to streamline student transactions. All student Bulldog Bucks deposit requests are now created at the Bulldog Bucks Deposit System and then paid via Student Accounts. Due to new regulations, we are no longer able to provide access to a cardholder's account to anyone other than the cardholder. All deposit requests must be initiated by the student cardholder.

However, parents may still pay the deposit requests initiated by the student. They have two options for doing this:

  • In order for parents to pay deposits online, their student will need to grant them access to his or her Student Account. This access can be set up at Student Accounts. Parents can easily pay deposit requests online at Student Accounts once they have access, and the funds will be promptly placed onto the student's Bulldog Bucks.
  • Parents may also go to the Bursar's office and make a payment with cash, check or money order. The parent will only need the student's ID or Social Security number to make the payment. Note that credit card payments cannot be made in person, only online via the option above.

Do I need a VTS Card to print, copy or do laundry?

UGA students, faculty, and staff should not need VTS Cards, as they can instead use Bulldog Bucks for all VTS services. Your Bulldog Bucks account is free, uses your existing UGACard, accepts online deposits, and can be used for many more services (including over 100 off-campus locations) than a VTS card. Furthermore, funds on Bulldog Bucks accounts can be refunded when the account is closed. Therefore, University students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to use Bulldog Bucks for printing, copying, and laundry.

Cards can be purchased at VTS machines for 60 cents. There are nine of these machines conveniently located across the UGA campus:

No refunds are issued for VTS cards. This is a no-exceptions policy, and applies to lost VTS cards, cards with unused funds, cards purchased in error, and all other cases.

Are VTS Cards the same as Bulldog Bucks?

No. Bulldog Bucks and VTS cards are completely separate. While either card can be used for printing, copying, and laundry, the two systems are otherwise unrelated. Some important differences are that, unlike Bulldog Bucks accounts, VTS Cards cannot be refunded, cannot be used for other on and off campus services, and cannot be deposited to online.

Why can't I deposit to my Bulldog Bucks account at the VTS machines?

Under the new Deposit System, all Bulldog Bucks deposits are now paid through Student Accounts. Therefore, VTS machines can no longer be used to make deposits to or check the balance on your Bulldog Bucks account. VTS machines are to be used with VTS cards only. What is the Online Coupon Book?

Bulldog Bucks is accepted by over 100 off-campus merchants located all over Athens. Many of these merchants offer special deals all semester long to Bulldog Bucks users. These deals make up the Online Coupon Book. You can use the Coupon Book to view coupons and print out the ones you like, as often as you like.

What is Merchant Spotlight?

Every week, one or more locations accepting Bulldog Bucks will offer a special deal for that week only to Bulldog Bucks users. To take advantage of this deal, all you have to do is print out the Merchant Spotlight coupon (by going to the coupons page, clicking the Spotlight coupon, and printing it out), present it to the merchant , and pay with Bulldog Bucks. Be sure to check back every week for new offers!

Will there be any new coupons?

Most of our coupons are good for the entire semester, and there will be another batch of them for the spring semester. However, some of them are only available for a more limited time, and will be posted and removed as the semester progresses. Furthermore, the Merchant Spotlight coupons change every week. So be sure to keep checking for new offers.

The coupon links aren't working.

The Online Coupon Book requires Javascript. Most browsers have Javascript enabled by default, but if the links do not work you may need to enable it in your browser's options. See the help files of your web browser for instructions on how to do this.

I can't view the coupons.

You may need to download Acrobat Reader. This is a free download. Restart your browser after installing and you should be able to view or download the coupons. If you're browser cannot display the coupons, you can simply save the .pdf files and open them in Acrobat Reader (Mac OSX users can open them in Preview).

When I use the multiple coupons page, only my first four selections show up.

Because only four coupons can actually fit on a page, all selections after the first four are ignored. If you would like to print more coupons, just print them in groups of four or less.

I can see the coupons on my screen, but when I try to print I get a blank page.

Make sure you're printing from the pdf toolbar, not trying to print from the browser's menus. The pdf toolbar is the extra row of buttons that shows up when you go to the coupons. One of these buttons should be print, and the coupons should print correctly as long as you're using this button. You can also use your browser's "Print Preview" options to see whether or not the document is going to print properly before you try it.

I have problems Printing Multiple Coupons

If you know that you can view pdf files, your best bet is to be sure your browser is up-to-date (in particular, Firefox users should be sure they're using Firefox 3.5) or to try it in another broswer. If this doesn't work, you probably don't have Acrobat Reader installed.
